Officer of the Year 2007

We're so proud of Ronny, he was Voted Officer of the Year 2007. What a great honor for him. His fellow workers in patrol all voted and he was the WINNER!! Maybe he'll be the next Sheriff!! How would that be? : )

We've had a busy weekend....We went to the Sheriff's Office Awards banquet Friday night, Daniel was at the first playoff game for Midland Christian. They won and will Play Saturday in Abeline. Then Saturday we went to Joey & Brandy's wedding. Very nice! It was a small gathering, but it was perfect. Then Kailea had a birthday party that evening so she and I went to that. We've just partied all weekend!!! Sunday we will clean house and rest.

We are ALL looking forward to our Thanksgiving break. Wish we could all be together. We will be thinking of each of you.

Dee's Group

Glad to hear Lene is taking the steps, And our wishes for a speedy recover for Shea. Emmy called so excited last night they got a 9 point deer around dinner time. She just had to share her part in it. Including not washing her shoes because it has her proof of deer blood on it to show everyone. Here is a picture for you.

The Wedding is fast aproaching, next weekend. The shower went well, and she got most of what she had on her list, with the gift cards she recieved she was going to get her sheets & window treatments she wanted. Emmy took picutres of the shower, but most were blurred, sorry. My camera went out on Halloween so we had to use Brian's and she wasn't used to that one. Anyway, I heard pop got a deer also, but no pictures were taken. So the trip was a good one even if it was warm.

Proud of Our Daughter

I just wanted everyone to know how very proud we are of Lene'. She has made some difficult decisions lately in order to better herself and that is hard at any age. Her first big step was to pack up and leave a place she called 'home' in hopes of becoming stronger and more independant within her self. She wants to make her own decisions with out the influence of others less responsible than her. She plans on getting a job, starting college in the Spring and developing some positive friendships. She is looking forward to being closer to a great grandmother, grandparents and various Aunts/Uncles and cousins that she has not had the opportunity to be around much.

We are enjoying haivng her just an hour away too!

Update from North Texas Bristow's

Just wanted to update everyone on Shea. She went through the procedure on her back without any complications. (First time ever I think!) But Praise the Lord there were none! The procedure did help with her back pain on the right side. The doctor decided that he was only comfortable with pricking her back 6 times on one side instead of 12 times for both sides. He was unsere of how her body would react. So he erred on the side of caution. For this we are greatful. He is willing to do the other side next week as well as burn the nerves on the right side since the procedure seemed to help. The actual procedure is called a RHIZOTOMY. It is a procedure where the Doctor will now actually burn the nerve ending in her back. It should give her relief for 6-8 months (jsut until the nerve regenerated it'self). We will do it this one time adn see how it goes. FOr now her pain is back up and she is hurting.

Lene is in San Angelo visiting. Terry was home Thursday and Friday of this week. I was able to get caught up on some work I was behind on.
Not much else going on here. Anybody need a weekend break? We have an extra room just call our B&B line and let us know when to have it ready for you.

Have a good week,

Well, so glad everyone is home or on their way home. Just to get you caught up here, I took Emmy to the Dr. today, school called she is sick again with the nose, throat & ears. Infection again, just cleared up her ear infection not even 3 weeks ago. It hurts to swallow, and her ears are red, but we got her medications and she has started on them today. I knew it might be a problem with all the wind & dirt blowing. We went to Wal-Mart tonight to put some things on lay away for Christmas, GUESS WHAT... no more lay away. I was not happy about that, I use it every year. Life goes on.

After going to the Dr. and being there a while (every kid & baby in town) was sick it seemed with that croupy cough we got her RX dropped off and came home and started up the humidifier and watched horror movies all day. She got board and is now over at Uncle John's house with Brian & Joey, Brandy's car is leaking water so she is over there helping I guess. We worked on Brandys wedding flowers and stuff this weekend, and it seems time is getting away from me this year.

Not sure if I will go to work tomorrow we shall see how much she is up with her coughing fits tonight. Glad to see Miss K tearing up the roads.. Go Girl! Aunt Shirley & Unlce George we will be thinking of you. Take care.

Home Sweet Home

Picture 1 “Home Sweet Home”
Picture 2 “Sunset thru the Smoke”
Click on either picture to enlarge.
It is good to be home!!!!!!! Vacation is always nice (even for us retired people). The only bad part of the trip was the fact that Kenneth’s truck was stolen. We thoroughly enjoyed the company, deep Sea Fishing, Golfing, shopping, cards and Mexican Train. Fishing yielded about 12 BIG Dorado, 3 blue fin tuna and several other fish of the tuna family. Most was given away, except a few of the Dorado.
Believe it or not, we did come back with lots of pictures. We are going to become very crafty with our treasure of shells. (Sea Shells from the Sea Shores. NOT Shells from the BeeBee Gunn).
We came back with mixed emotion about the language barrier. We get upset with the Mexican people who live in the United States and cannot speak English. We forget about the Mexican people that are visiting here and are intimidated by the Americans who cannot speak Spanish. Our feeling over there was that we felt somewhat intimidated by not being able to speak Spanish well. And their feeling was: No habla espaƱol, Viajo con Dios, adios amigos. (You do not speak Spanish, Go with God, good-by friends.)
But, our punishment for leaving for so long is the Fire Storms greeted us with vengeance!!! But we do want you to know that as of this minute, we are safe. If we can hold out for one more day, the winds should calm down and it will be OK. Just in case ….. The RV is packed and full of Diesel, propane and water and we would be out of here before the smoke could tear our eyes!!!!

Look At HER GO....

This is nearly as big a step as her First Steps!! Kailea learned to PEDDLE this weekend! We started again with a tricycle she had, which is now to small. But I told her if she could peddle to the suburban, I'd go and buy her a Big Wheel. We were at Target at 9 pm last night!!!
We are SO PROUD of her. Another stepping stone accomplished. She might master riding a bike too!
Hope ya have a great week!

Bristow Family Update

CONGRATULATIONS Ronnie!!!!! Party time.!!!! This is great news, I know Netha doesn't particularly like the hours, but having your husband LOVE is job it worth so much!

Okay, for those of you that had 'bets' going on how long Lene would stay in San Angelo with out us, those of you who bet less than 6 months WON! WOOHOOO last weekend my parents, Shea & I went to San Angelo and moved her up to Navarro. Which is a little country town out side Corsicana. (Kind of like Stanton is to Midland). She is living in a house my brother and parents started redoing several years ago and then kind of quit once he got married. But it is a cute house, all rustic and done in Texas Stars. The front door has the Texas Star on it and then the window and door trims on the inside have some Texas Star squares on the corners. The floors are hard wood and the wall are wood and trimmed out in old barn yard fencing. It really is a neat house. There is still work that has to be done, LOTS in fact, it will be on going for quite some time now. But atleast she is closer and safer now.

She also got her another puppy before she left, she is a 5 month old black lab. Lene named her....Angelo. She really is a sweet little dog. But she won't be a 'little dog' for long her paws are HUGE. But she loves to cuddle with Lene and follows her every where. I tild her a better name would of been Shadow, she is definatly that, but Lene loves it and she needs the companionship right now to. (Better than a guy huh?)

She is putting in applications all over town for a job is dead set on GOING TO college in January.

I am glad to have her closer, she is an hour from us. This was a HUGE move for her as she HATES moving, but she made a very responsible decision on her own to move to better her life. Please pray with us that the Lord will richly bless her with a great job and wonderful friends.

Shea's Make A Wish Cruise was wonderful! We had a great time, it was a good family vacation for us all. She sis get her wish, which was to swim with the dolphins. We have some great pictures of her and Lene with Scarlet, the dolphin we swam with. We went on the largest cruise ship afloat, Freedom Of The Seas by Royal Carribbean. It was HUGH! We were treated like royalty. Our rooms were put on VIP notice, we got all kinds of special treatments, She got a free massage, and we all got to go back after each of the 'shows' and meet the performers. We got to go up to the bridge and meet the Captia, Shea even got to sit in the Captian's seat. She loved it and we all ahd a great time.

Now for an update on her health. Some of you know she was having increasing back pain and hip pain. do a procedure on her will have to be done under an xray, by giving her a shot of ladicaine in the back at the facet nerves. If this is successful in lowering her pain then the next step will be to go in under xray and burn the nerves to her facet joints in her back. We are still researching this one out. It can all be done lapriscopically and he would be willing to leave her in the hospital overnight due to her health issues but were not sure about this yet.

Terry is loving his job, he FINALLY met his 'boss' Ernie after having talked with the guy for over 9 years and now actually working for him for the last 6 months. Nobody else on the team could belive that Terry had never met Ernie. Yet Terry's goal when he started with UHS 9 years ago was 'to not ever have him come to his hospital' So, the Lord blessed and Terry never had to have Ernie come out to RCH so he had never met him until Monday night. Admirable goal upheld I think ! I am very proud of him and the work that he does. And am So THANKFUL that he loves it.

Me, I am trying to keep up with all Shea's doctor's appointments, as well as my own job. I am having some problems with my carpal tunnel in my left hand. It has gotten alot worse, to the point that I am going to see a surgeon about it on the 3rd of Nov I think. If I have to have surgery on it I will have to wait until Thanksgiving week so that Terry will be home to help me with Shea.

Well, I guess that is about it, enough huh?
Everyone have a good weekend.
Love ya,
THE NORTH TEXAS BRISTOWS

Sgt. Aaron

Sgt. Aaron is what they will call him from today forward! Ronny just got promoted to Sgt. and will be moving to mid-nights November 1st! We are all proud of him. His new schedule is going to take a lot of adjusting to. He'll work 9:30 pm to 7:30 am. I guess the Black curtains will have to come back out. I just put those away a few months ago. This is where Ronny wanted to get to before he changed to a different divison within the Sheriff's office. So he's met his goals and he'll do this for a while and then I'm sure it'll be on to something else!

The rest of our crew is doing GREAT!! Kailea is doing so well with school. I took her this morning and she didn't even cry and her normal teacher wasn't there either, so it was a double great morning! Daniel is doing great!! He's looking at colleges...Texas A & M is still number 1 on his list...he found out last week he was #4 in his class!! We are such Proud Parents!!! I told him to find out who was 1 & 2, I sure would like a Solutatorian or Validictorian. Wouldn't that be so cool??? 4th will due though.

The house is still getting bids...our new garage door is in, I'll post a pictur of that. It's Beautiful!!! The garage door opener is so quiet, you can't even hear it. We are in the process of getting a security system put in. We've hit some snags on that one! So we are working those out. It WILL BE IN BY November 1st though!!!!

I'd love to hear from ALL of you....keep us up to date on all that is going on with everyone!

Trying To leave Mexico

We have had a great time here except for a few big walls. Today we will play GOLF and tomorrow we will wash the clothes and get massages. Friday we will have to leave this place(Totonaka RV Park). No free days. We will then travel to Hermosillo and spend a few days and pick up passports. Monday, we went to the Pearl farm and learned how pearls are produced. This was interesting. Monday night george installed Skype on my computer and last night we were able to talk to Netha and the kids. All the rest of you folks need to install this. It is free and only requires a microphone. Yesterday Cheryl and Shirley went shopping and was able to find a few trinkets. That is the news down Mexico way.

Mexico

This here country(mexiCO) is a neat place. I can sorta kinda understand why we have so many mexicans in texas. We don't have as many police stations. I am really enjoy seeing how the people here live. WE do not know how good we have things until you come down here and see how some of these people live. Ronnie , a policeman told me the other day that his salary was $600.00/month. The loss of my F-150 was sad but it could have happened back home as well. I have not ever felt unsafe since we have been here. I know the other 3 has felt sorry for me but probably not unsafe. Anyway I may write a document for the public that will be traveling to Mexico on the procedures of telling the police about a stolen vehicle. There are 4 different police departments in this country. I did not know that and the general public probably does not either. I am hoping that the sale of this document will produce revenue. Anyway tomorrow night I will be cooking fried fish with french fries and hushpuppies.

Ranger or F-150?

Down here a Ranger and a F150 look almost the same from a picture. This is a Ranger with 4 doors. Anyway we could not find a picture of Kenneth's truck with the camper shell on it. There was a picture on our camera that was in the truck when it was stolen. In the 4 police stations and insurance agent the people taking the report mistakenly wrote down Ranger twice. We caught it both times. I must say KB (now called Eagle Eye) knows how to proof read a report. We are having a hard time with photos but will try and post some before we leave.
Love you all

Okay,
Enough of the playing around and not spelling right. As I just found out tonight, we did not tell everyone our old computer crashed and we had to get a new one. I do not have everyone's email addresses printed out (in case of you know what). I am building them up again so if you think I might need someones please forward it on to us so we can up date our addresses. Emmy is getting over 2 ear infections. She lost total hearing in her left ear last week and when I took her to the Dr. She had fluid in the drum. She has taken her medications, but I think we will need to see Dr. Case again. She had a hearing test at school today and only heard 3 sounds not six. She forgot her glasses so they would not test her eyes. So far she seems okay with the 6th grade, but does not like science. She saves that homework for mom's homework.

We have been slowly working on painting the livingroom for the last 3 weeks. Slow because we have had to work on the weekends doing inventory, and so we have one wall done! But I got the washroom, kitchen and pantry painted. so we are back to the livingroom again. At this rate we might have it done by Christmas. For those of you whom I have not told, we are going to be grandparents again. The second G-Baby is due April 27th. Brandy went to the Dr. and had a sonogram done. Everything is fine, but to early to tell the sex. She is 10.5 weeks. They plan to marry in Nov. Not sure of the date yet, but will let everyone know as I learn the details. We have a new addition to the family as well. We got a new puppy named Dutch. Yes, its another hotdog. He is chocolate brown hense the name (Dutch for Chocolate)

He's getting bigger every day. As well as his teeth! Other than that we are all fine working hard. Love to see all the postings. And now that I figured out on how to get here, I will stay in touch. Got to get ready for work, so we will say good night to all.

A 100 MILES and HE can SEE the FINISH LINE!!!!
He looked great, like he'd just started!!

The FINISH LINE!

Braum's! Look at all that Chocolate!!!

Ranger or F150?? Which one was it?

The Ford Ranger The Ford F150
Now that's a Big difference in Truck! They'd be nicer, I know, if they were pictured in WHITE!
Maybe you should print it out to demonstrate the difference?

Why's It Hard?

Do most of you think it's hard to blog on here? I think it's pretty easy. You just have to remember you login and password. : )

I love it when ya all write in it! The Mexico travelers COULD send us a few pictures via our blog spot!

I just added a few more family members....we'll see if they blog! : )

The Aaron's are doing fine...we just put off our latest bid to remodel...we're going to keep looking for a little cheaper bid...The garage door will be put in next Friday...That will be nice. The windows and back door are Great!! My new office in the front living room is great...I feel more like a part of the family.

Daniel has gone to school tonight to talk to some COLLEGE recruits!!! A&M is first on the list, we might have to pass the hat for that tuition! I didn't go with him because I have an ear infection, pink eye and sores in my nose. It's all possibly some sort of staff infection.

Kailea is doing GREAT in school. Daniel takes her in the mornings...that is working out tons better. She's doing well with the work. We'll see how it goes after Christmas break and they really pick up.

Ronny is just working, working, working, gathering money for our remodel!!! He may be transferring to Mid-nights soon. His Sgt will be retiring and the shuffle will happen. If he gets the open Sgt slot it'll be on mid-nights. I'm OK with it. It'll just be hard.

The Aaron family is also being abandoned by the family. Linda leaves Friday for a month and a half...Egypt, Qatar (to see Rhonda) Caribbean, and somewhere else that I can't remember at the moment. Mom will be gone to Ruidoso this weekend...we'll be TOTALLY Parent less!

Keep the blogs coming!!! I LOVE THEM!!!

The Rose Adventures

Well, things just keep on moving out here. Despite the fact that we've been abandoned by all of our family this fall, we're doing okay. Phil and Wendy have been off to Hawaii for 2 weeks. They're back for a week and a half and then go on a cruise. Then they are back for a couple of weeks and off to Europe for a while! Mom and dad are off in Mexico, hopefully having a good time. We're just working away. The kids are doing well in school although Summer is having a hard time adjusting to the early and late hours this year. They are both swimming on a swim team and have been swimming three nights a week until almost 8 o'clock. Her hours are going to be a little earlier starting this week. They competed in their first swim meet a couple of weeks ago. While they didn't win, the did alright and learned what it's all about. Homework hasn't been too painful. They both are pretty good about it. Half the time we're not even sure what Sierra does. She just gets it done. Simon was promoted to the research and development department this month and is busy learning new computer programs to design new products. He is enjoying it. He is product testing on Sunday - going on a climb with a neighbor. You know the saying "It takes a village to raise a child"? We've decided it takes a village to keep up with Simon. He's got one neighbor to run with, one to fly kites with, one to climb with, and he fits the kids in where appropriate. He's doing a eco-marathon in Catalina next month. 26 miles through the mountains off road. Finally, I am doing better at my job this year. The kids seem better and it's just good to have my own rules set from the start. I am still looking for just the right thing though. I applied for an assistant principal job in my district and I have an interview next week for the county office. If they don't work out, that's okay too, although a little more money would be nice. We've got such a big yard to landscape I dont' know how we'll ever afford it. We adopted a Chihuahua in July. Simon wanted a dog, but not one he'd get too attached to. he wan't ready for another Chamonix. Since he always hated Chihuahua's, he got me and Summer one because we wanted one. Everyone gets along pretty well and I think Simon likes him a lot more than he expected he would. He was about a year when we got him. Well, I've probably bored everyone to death with this unexpected, lengthy blog, but without my mom here, I don't talk nearly as much! I do check for your updates and enjoy them all! Angie

What happened to September?

This was a month that had so many events and none recorded. Where do we start? I do know of a few events, but do not know many details: It really is nice to go to one spot and find out information that we want to share. It does take some time and effort to keep it updated.

Summer had a birthday party on Sept 2nd for her 7th birthday which was Aug 31st.
Summer and Sierra started swimming, and how is that going?
George and Shirley started their “Trip” on Sept 12th.
Kenneth had a 65th birthday on Sept 13th. (Trying to catch George)
Daniel received a “Letter jacket” on Sept 14th.
Kenneth & Cheryl started their trip on Sep 14th.
Terry, LaQuita, Lena, and Shea started a cruise to? And how was it?
Shirley had her 64rd birthday on Sep 21st. (Trying to catch Kenneth)
George, Shirley, Kenneth and Cheryl entered Mexico at Nogales AZ on Sept 24th.
Kenneth had his Ford F150 (Ford Ranger on some paperwork) stolen on Sept 28th.

Fun in the California Sun

It has been warmer than we like here for the last week. I think it has been around 85 or so. We took Summer and Sierra to the beach on Aug 8 for a couple of hours and it was so beautiful. The girls and George was in the water like dolphins. We were there just long enough that Shirley has a slight sunburn on her back. Tomorrow we go to our timeshare up by Escondido for the most of the week. We need to return on Saturday so we can attend a friends wedding. The next week we will be back home and working on the motor home getting it ready for out September trip to??????? We are planning on meeting Kenneth and Cheryl at Tucson. We have heard that it is really nice about 4 hours drive south of the border at Nogales. Anyway at this point it is still in the planning stages. We traded RJ (Red Jeep) in on a 2000 Nissan Frontier 4x4 crew cab pickup. We have bought new shoes for it and have it ready to tow behind the motor home. Here is a picture of it.

It is bigger than RJ and the AC works great and has a automatic transmission. I am sure we will miss RJ but it does not last very long when you climb into ST (Silver Truck).

It gets HOT here too!

Today was the 2nd day we had over 100" weather. It was so bad even with the a/c on in the Blazer I was sweating on those leather seats. (Now I rememebr I don't like leather!). :)
Shea is hooked up looking like an alien she thinks. She has a 3 day EEG hooked up on her head, they are trying to 'catch' seizure activity on a monitor so they can see what kind of seizures she is having. We get to stay up ALL night tonight and then ALL day tomorrow too! FUN! They tell you to do this in hopes of your body being tired causes a seizure to begin.

Terry is in Oklahoma City this week. He called tonight to say that the people in OK are just a little bit different. I explained to him that is why they are called OKIES.

Lene' just finished up helping our church in San Angelo with their VBS this weekend. SHe has started attending church there after we left. Oh well atleast she is going now. AND>>>>> OH OH the best news yet!!!!!!! She and Jonathon broke up.!!! WOWHOWOOOHOW He is moving out on the 16th that is when his other place will be ready.

We are awaiting to hear back from Shea's Make A Wish Grantor so we can finalize her wish. After MUCH deliberation she has changed her 'wish' from Hawaii because of the long flight & her not being able to do some of the excursions she wanted to do to ......your not gonna believe this...................a cruise. Yes, a cruise and the only one that has swimming with the Dolphins is...............a Western Carribbean cruise aboard the ROYAL CARRIBBEAN. It will make 2 port stops and only 2 of them are the same places we went in April. But you know, Terry and I enjoyed the cuise so much that we don't mind at all getting to go again!

Not much else here going on. If anyone is up LATE tonight give us all call, we'll be up!

Love to you all
LQ

Rio Camarie

Midland has gotten a TON of rain this year. You wouldn't think we were in West Texas. This was Wednesday night about 2 a.m. Our neighbor called us and said water was coming in his garage, we might need to get up and look and see if it was coming in our House! About two years ago it rained less than this and it came in our back door. Ronny had to dig a trench from the back yard to the front drive way so the water would drain off. He dug that trench in Record Time!!! : ) Our back yard is very unlevel and slopes to the house, which we plan to fix very soon. But this year, about 4-5 months ago we decided to put down some white stone to the back gate, which Ronny wanted to bury in the ground. So we dug this trench, hole, river, pond...what ever it shall be called now, but we haven't put the rock in because we need to level the rest of the yard. So the trench has remained, and it has SAVED us at least 4 times from flooding our patio and coming in our house. See the picture above. I kidded Terry & LaQuita that we were digging a pond, it's really a river!!

We just took out a loan to do some improvements on our house and the loan company said we had to have flood insurance because we were in a flood zone. This was less than 2 weeks ago! We use to be in the flood zone, but only the sidewalk and some of my front yard is in it now so we argued with her about that and we won. Flood insurance has gone from $250/year 10 years ago to $1400/year now!! So when we got up Wed night we were AMAZED at how high the water was, it got in our garage a little over half way. Ronny & I sat out on the front porch watching it pour down rain and the water rising and rolling down our street. The water in the street was over the curbs and up in our yard about half way as well as our neighbors across the street. We both looked at each other and said, "We Might Should Have Gotten that Flood Insurance!" Thankfully it didn't get in the house. We hope this is as close as we come to a flood in this 100 years...we'll keep our trench in the back yard for a while, we might need to invest in some sand bags & sand. We are ready for some sunny days, not HOT, just sunny and dry so we can dry out a little bit!

Mansfield/ Fort Worth/ who knows????

Now I KNOW we have moved quite a bit but not from one place to another in just a few weeks! I just had to give you a hard time Netha! You know I LOVE YOU.

Terry has been back out in San Angelo the last few weeks and Lene' wanted to come 'home' and spend some time with us, so instead of flying Terry rented a car and drove home Friday afternoon with Lene. She brought Oreo (our granddog) as Terry calls her. Lene brought her scrapbook stuff and Lene', Shea and I scrapbooked off and on all weekend. I loved it. We enjoyed her being here so much. I miss my daughter, we talk everyday, so far we have but it's still not the same as being able to 'see' her. But Lene loves San Angelo and that's where she seems happiest so that is where she should be for now. She will be taking some college this fall and working full time so she will be busy.
Shea recevied a great blessing from the Lord yesterday. Just 2 weeks after applying for SS benefits, we found out that she was awarded SS benefits. We got our Senator's office involved and boy what a difference that makes! They will be contacting us later on this week to determine how much she will qualify to receive monthly. But the BEST part for Terry and I is that she will also receive Medicaid. This is a HUGE burden lifted off us as she will now have insurance after turing 19, which is when she would of been dropped from Terry's insurance had she not been going to school full time. She was mostly excited about the income, which I can understand. She already has bills to look forward too......Cindy. We told her that any expense Cindy has from now on will be her responsibility.
I am still working from home and love it. It affords me the time I need 'off' with Shea and to take her to and from rehab and doctors appointments. I could not get this any where else.
Well, I guess that is the latest from the Mansfield, Fort Worth area.
Who's next in reporting in???????
Love to you all,
LaQuita

The Band Camper....

Here is Daniel's room at West Texas A&M Band Camp in Canyon, Texas!!! Small for one, smaller with two!! Daniel loved band camp. But missed the air conditioner...these are TWO of the THREE fans they had in the room. He's planning to go back next year. It must have been a positive experience. He leaves for Disney World...Aug 10th! HE's our world traveler this year!

The Princess & Prince

Kailea & Her Pop all dolled up at Clay & Stephanies wedding!! Oh you can't see the pretty black, patten leather shoes. We went to the shoe store on the way to the wedding. As we parked, Kailea said "I want heels!" 6, going on 21!!! The wedding was pretty and there were plenty of High Heels there for Kailea to admire, and she got lots of advice on why NOT to want to wear them!!!

Back in Town

Well we're finally back in town and in the process of cleaning up a lot of mess. Simon did a great job in Couer d'Alene completing the Ironman in 14 hours nine minutes. He's already trying to plan the next one to better his time. It was a busy and exciting day for us bystanders walking all over town to get a glimpse and cheer him and his cousin Tim on. The town was beautiful as was most of the 24 hour drive. It was long but the kids did great and they enjoyed the lake and jacuzzi a lot as well as just new experiences. The trip was too fast though. We'll try to spend a lot more time next time. I didn't get the V.P. position but I'll keep trying for other positions. Our niece Zoe turned 2 last week and we spent the day at their pool party yesterday. She loves her cousins! Next week Simon's cousin is getting married and the girls are in the wedding. We'll get pictures. Looking forward to things slowing down this summer, I hope. And...Happy Birthday to Tracey and Tyler! Tyler is 16 this year. Hard to believe... Angie

Thank Goodness this week is over...

It has been a long week at work. And not a very fun one. It amazes me what people worry about in the work place. For instance we have a lady, which just happens to be across the hall from me, that worries about EVERYONE. She checks the clock when you come & go. She wants to know what you are doing, why you're doing it and are you sure you should be doing it. She thinks she's doing someone a favor, but no one cares. She gets to work at 4-5am everyday, works nights, weekends, etc. None of us work like her. But what she doesn't realize is that no one really cares she does this and she sure doesn't get any compensation for it. Then we have those that are jealous...jealous, I don't know why. I've been driving a pool truck back and forth to my new office, which I'm STILL working on getting all set up. I'm not even working permanently out in the field yet, but it's bothering someone that I'm driving it EVERYDAY. What's their part in all this? I don't know. But it hurts to know someone is so upset about what I'M doing and feels the need to point it out to certain people.

It's actually been a hard month at work. For the first time in 10 years I've seriously looked for a new job. That's a bad feeling for me. To be so unhappy you want to leave. There are two supervisor positions open right now and I'm trying to decide if I'm going to put in for them. No, I don't have all the knowledge it takes to do these jobs, but I CAN learn, I just need a willing teacher. I'm not sure, I have some mixed emotions about it all. I've also wished I was a man these past few weeks, because I think some of this wouldn't have happened. It's tough trying to make a career in what is for the most part a male dominated world. Or if I am successful, I'm paid less than a male, and respected less and viewed differently. I'm a head strong Female for the most part, but having to constantly fight my way through is getting old. But letting them win I don't think is really in my game plan. I'll keep striving to be the boss one day. I think I can do it, maybe I need a little more experience and practice. Work has consumed my life this week...I'm ready for my Vacation week after next, and ready for the 4th of July Holiday!!

We are going to be going to a few gatherings...wish we all lived closer (again!) Sunday we are going to Linda's friends house, it'll be good, there will be lots of Ronald Gene's old friends there and I think Ronny will enjoy that. They have a pool so the kids will LOVE that! Then Monday night we are all going to the Baseball game, and they will have fireworks! Then on the 4th we'll go to Don's. That one will be hard, this will be the first 4th since Sissy passed away and it won't be the same.

Daniel is gathering things for Band camp this week. Kailea PASSED Summer School!!! YEAH!!! She's ready to enjoy the summer. We are getting our entertainment center next week and then while we are off we'll re-do our bedroom and then our new bedroom furniture will be delivered that Saturday!!! It's going to be so nice. Then we have a contractor coming out to give us some estimates on remodeling our house a little bit. We are excited! We've made our decision that this will be home, and we need to fix it up and make it more enjoyable.

I hope ya have a restful 4th of July week...and Holiday!! Love you! ---Netha

Bob...

Meet Bob...yes, that would be Bob the bobcat! He is currently located at my new office in the field. He was hiding under this dock. But has since moved on. I haven't seen him under here in a few weeks. And I check regualarly, however, one of the guys saw him crossing the road, just down from our office. There has been a lot of activity around there these past few weeks, hopefully he has moved his residence!!! This is the first time I've seen a bobcat up close and close enough!!!
Hi Everyone.
Hey Simon we are proud of you. GREAT JOB. Well Cheryl & I will be off to the mountains Thursday for a few days to do some bike riding and other ACTIVITIES. Hopefully it will be cool. We plan on coming back to Manahans and do a ride on the 4th. That will be fun. Netha seen BOB lately? Another story.

Summer is Flying by...

Kailea has ONE more week of sumnmer school!! She's so ready to be out!!! Then Daniel's off to Band Camp at West Texas A&M in Canyon for two weeks. I don't think he's been away from me for that long. He's looking forward to it. Ronny and I are off the week after the 4th, we plan to work on our house. Kailea has day camp for 1/2 a day for two weeks at the CP center. She loves to go there!

We are going to try and get rid of the "airport thing" Kailea has. She and I are going to fly to see Terry & LaQuita in July. Hopefully that will be a plesant thing and she'll not talk about the airport so much. I bet what changes is, "I went to see my boyfriend John at the airport," to " I went to see Quita & Terry at the airport." That'll be ok though!

Not much else going on here in West Texas. I'm still working hard on my new office building. So many details, but when I get it all done, I will have accomplished a lot! A new job is fixing to post at work. It's a production supervisor. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to put in for it. Hard to say today. There's lots of people that will put in for it, I'm probably not even in the front running. But I've filled in for those guys, I could do it. I'd still need some training, but who doesn't! I'll keep you posted. Maybe it'll just be another "interview exercise"!!

I hope you all have a great weekend...Kailea has a swim party to go to on Saturday, Daniel will probably invite a friend over and play Warhammer! We use to need a room for Lego's, we now need a room for Warhammer. He has most of his stuff in the garage, but it over flowith too. At least he's at home! The pool table is gone and he's started playing in there, migrating to any open floor!! : )

Have a great weekend!

What a day...I nearly worked 12 hours today! I've been filling in for the maintenance supervisor in the field this week and last week. Then today the other supervisor was gone, so I filled in for both! Our new office in the field is coming a long. When I figure out how to post a picture I'll put it on here.

I got all your reply's about "no web page attached" It was really late when I did this last night. I just thought this would be fun. Something different.

Kailea has 2 more weeks of summer school left. Then Daniel will be leaving for band camp the second week of July, for TWO weeks.

Ronny and I bought us a new living room suite. We are anxiously awaiting it's arrival in 6 weeks or so.

We went to LQ & Terry's new house this weekend for a Surprise party for Shea! We had a great time. Their house is BEAUTIFUL!!! We loved it!! Shea's party was fun...wish you all could have been there!
