Proud of Our Daughter

I just wanted everyone to know how very proud we are of Lene'. She has made some difficult decisions lately in order to better herself and that is hard at any age. Her first big step was to pack up and leave a place she called 'home' in hopes of becoming stronger and more independant within her self. She wants to make her own decisions with out the influence of others less responsible than her. She plans on getting a job, starting college in the Spring and developing some positive friendships. She is looking forward to being closer to a great grandmother, grandparents and various Aunts/Uncles and cousins that she has not had the opportunity to be around much.

We are enjoying haivng her just an hour away too!

Update from North Texas Bristow's

Just wanted to update everyone on Shea. She went through the procedure on her back without any complications. (First time ever I think!) But Praise the Lord there were none! The procedure did help with her back pain on the right side. The doctor decided that he was only comfortable with pricking her back 6 times on one side instead of 12 times for both sides. He was unsere of how her body would react. So he erred on the side of caution. For this we are greatful. He is willing to do the other side next week as well as burn the nerves on the right side since the procedure seemed to help. The actual procedure is called a RHIZOTOMY. It is a procedure where the Doctor will now actually burn the nerve ending in her back. It should give her relief for 6-8 months (jsut until the nerve regenerated it'self). We will do it this one time adn see how it goes. FOr now her pain is back up and she is hurting.

Lene is in San Angelo visiting. Terry was home Thursday and Friday of this week. I was able to get caught up on some work I was behind on.
Not much else going on here. Anybody need a weekend break? We have an extra room just call our B&B line and let us know when to have it ready for you.

Have a good week,

Well, so glad everyone is home or on their way home. Just to get you caught up here, I took Emmy to the Dr. today, school called she is sick again with the nose, throat & ears. Infection again, just cleared up her ear infection not even 3 weeks ago. It hurts to swallow, and her ears are red, but we got her medications and she has started on them today. I knew it might be a problem with all the wind & dirt blowing. We went to Wal-Mart tonight to put some things on lay away for Christmas, GUESS WHAT... no more lay away. I was not happy about that, I use it every year. Life goes on.

After going to the Dr. and being there a while (every kid & baby in town) was sick it seemed with that croupy cough we got her RX dropped off and came home and started up the humidifier and watched horror movies all day. She got board and is now over at Uncle John's house with Brian & Joey, Brandy's car is leaking water so she is over there helping I guess. We worked on Brandys wedding flowers and stuff this weekend, and it seems time is getting away from me this year.

Not sure if I will go to work tomorrow we shall see how much she is up with her coughing fits tonight. Glad to see Miss K tearing up the roads.. Go Girl! Aunt Shirley & Unlce George we will be thinking of you. Take care.

Home Sweet Home

Picture 1 “Home Sweet Home”
Picture 2 “Sunset thru the Smoke”
Click on either picture to enlarge.
It is good to be home!!!!!!! Vacation is always nice (even for us retired people). The only bad part of the trip was the fact that Kenneth’s truck was stolen. We thoroughly enjoyed the company, deep Sea Fishing, Golfing, shopping, cards and Mexican Train. Fishing yielded about 12 BIG Dorado, 3 blue fin tuna and several other fish of the tuna family. Most was given away, except a few of the Dorado.
Believe it or not, we did come back with lots of pictures. We are going to become very crafty with our treasure of shells. (Sea Shells from the Sea Shores. NOT Shells from the BeeBee Gunn).
We came back with mixed emotion about the language barrier. We get upset with the Mexican people who live in the United States and cannot speak English. We forget about the Mexican people that are visiting here and are intimidated by the Americans who cannot speak Spanish. Our feeling over there was that we felt somewhat intimidated by not being able to speak Spanish well. And their feeling was: No habla espaƱol, Viajo con Dios, adios amigos. (You do not speak Spanish, Go with God, good-by friends.)
But, our punishment for leaving for so long is the Fire Storms greeted us with vengeance!!! But we do want you to know that as of this minute, we are safe. If we can hold out for one more day, the winds should calm down and it will be OK. Just in case ….. The RV is packed and full of Diesel, propane and water and we would be out of here before the smoke could tear our eyes!!!!

Look At HER GO....

This is nearly as big a step as her First Steps!! Kailea learned to PEDDLE this weekend! We started again with a tricycle she had, which is now to small. But I told her if she could peddle to the suburban, I'd go and buy her a Big Wheel. We were at Target at 9 pm last night!!!
We are SO PROUD of her. Another stepping stone accomplished. She might master riding a bike too!
Hope ya have a great week!

Bristow Family Update

CONGRATULATIONS Ronnie!!!!! Party time.!!!! This is great news, I know Netha doesn't particularly like the hours, but having your husband LOVE is job it worth so much!

Okay, for those of you that had 'bets' going on how long Lene would stay in San Angelo with out us, those of you who bet less than 6 months WON! WOOHOOO last weekend my parents, Shea & I went to San Angelo and moved her up to Navarro. Which is a little country town out side Corsicana. (Kind of like Stanton is to Midland). She is living in a house my brother and parents started redoing several years ago and then kind of quit once he got married. But it is a cute house, all rustic and done in Texas Stars. The front door has the Texas Star on it and then the window and door trims on the inside have some Texas Star squares on the corners. The floors are hard wood and the wall are wood and trimmed out in old barn yard fencing. It really is a neat house. There is still work that has to be done, LOTS in fact, it will be on going for quite some time now. But atleast she is closer and safer now.

She also got her another puppy before she left, she is a 5 month old black lab. Lene named her....Angelo. She really is a sweet little dog. But she won't be a 'little dog' for long her paws are HUGE. But she loves to cuddle with Lene and follows her every where. I tild her a better name would of been Shadow, she is definatly that, but Lene loves it and she needs the companionship right now to. (Better than a guy huh?)

She is putting in applications all over town for a job is dead set on GOING TO college in January.

I am glad to have her closer, she is an hour from us. This was a HUGE move for her as she HATES moving, but she made a very responsible decision on her own to move to better her life. Please pray with us that the Lord will richly bless her with a great job and wonderful friends.

Shea's Make A Wish Cruise was wonderful! We had a great time, it was a good family vacation for us all. She sis get her wish, which was to swim with the dolphins. We have some great pictures of her and Lene with Scarlet, the dolphin we swam with. We went on the largest cruise ship afloat, Freedom Of The Seas by Royal Carribbean. It was HUGH! We were treated like royalty. Our rooms were put on VIP notice, we got all kinds of special treatments, She got a free massage, and we all got to go back after each of the 'shows' and meet the performers. We got to go up to the bridge and meet the Captia, Shea even got to sit in the Captian's seat. She loved it and we all ahd a great time.

Now for an update on her health. Some of you know she was having increasing back pain and hip pain. do a procedure on her will have to be done under an xray, by giving her a shot of ladicaine in the back at the facet nerves. If this is successful in lowering her pain then the next step will be to go in under xray and burn the nerves to her facet joints in her back. We are still researching this one out. It can all be done lapriscopically and he would be willing to leave her in the hospital overnight due to her health issues but were not sure about this yet.

Terry is loving his job, he FINALLY met his 'boss' Ernie after having talked with the guy for over 9 years and now actually working for him for the last 6 months. Nobody else on the team could belive that Terry had never met Ernie. Yet Terry's goal when he started with UHS 9 years ago was 'to not ever have him come to his hospital' So, the Lord blessed and Terry never had to have Ernie come out to RCH so he had never met him until Monday night. Admirable goal upheld I think ! I am very proud of him and the work that he does. And am So THANKFUL that he loves it.

Me, I am trying to keep up with all Shea's doctor's appointments, as well as my own job. I am having some problems with my carpal tunnel in my left hand. It has gotten alot worse, to the point that I am going to see a surgeon about it on the 3rd of Nov I think. If I have to have surgery on it I will have to wait until Thanksgiving week so that Terry will be home to help me with Shea.

Well, I guess that is about it, enough huh?
Everyone have a good weekend.
Love ya,
THE NORTH TEXAS BRISTOWS

Sgt. Aaron

Sgt. Aaron is what they will call him from today forward! Ronny just got promoted to Sgt. and will be moving to mid-nights November 1st! We are all proud of him. His new schedule is going to take a lot of adjusting to. He'll work 9:30 pm to 7:30 am. I guess the Black curtains will have to come back out. I just put those away a few months ago. This is where Ronny wanted to get to before he changed to a different divison within the Sheriff's office. So he's met his goals and he'll do this for a while and then I'm sure it'll be on to something else!

The rest of our crew is doing GREAT!! Kailea is doing so well with school. I took her this morning and she didn't even cry and her normal teacher wasn't there either, so it was a double great morning! Daniel is doing great!! He's looking at colleges...Texas A & M is still number 1 on his list...he found out last week he was #4 in his class!! We are such Proud Parents!!! I told him to find out who was 1 & 2, I sure would like a Solutatorian or Validictorian. Wouldn't that be so cool??? 4th will due though.

The house is still getting bids...our new garage door is in, I'll post a pictur of that. It's Beautiful!!! The garage door opener is so quiet, you can't even hear it. We are in the process of getting a security system put in. We've hit some snags on that one! So we are working those out. It WILL BE IN BY November 1st though!!!!

I'd love to hear from ALL of you....keep us up to date on all that is going on with everyone!

Trying To leave Mexico

We have had a great time here except for a few big walls. Today we will play GOLF and tomorrow we will wash the clothes and get massages. Friday we will have to leave this place(Totonaka RV Park). No free days. We will then travel to Hermosillo and spend a few days and pick up passports. Monday, we went to the Pearl farm and learned how pearls are produced. This was interesting. Monday night george installed Skype on my computer and last night we were able to talk to Netha and the kids. All the rest of you folks need to install this. It is free and only requires a microphone. Yesterday Cheryl and Shirley went shopping and was able to find a few trinkets. That is the news down Mexico way.

Mexico

This here country(mexiCO) is a neat place. I can sorta kinda understand why we have so many mexicans in texas. We don't have as many police stations. I am really enjoy seeing how the people here live. WE do not know how good we have things until you come down here and see how some of these people live. Ronnie , a policeman told me the other day that his salary was $600.00/month. The loss of my F-150 was sad but it could have happened back home as well. I have not ever felt unsafe since we have been here. I know the other 3 has felt sorry for me but probably not unsafe. Anyway I may write a document for the public that will be traveling to Mexico on the procedures of telling the police about a stolen vehicle. There are 4 different police departments in this country. I did not know that and the general public probably does not either. I am hoping that the sale of this document will produce revenue. Anyway tomorrow night I will be cooking fried fish with french fries and hushpuppies.

Ranger or F-150?

Down here a Ranger and a F150 look almost the same from a picture. This is a Ranger with 4 doors. Anyway we could not find a picture of Kenneth's truck with the camper shell on it. There was a picture on our camera that was in the truck when it was stolen. In the 4 police stations and insurance agent the people taking the report mistakenly wrote down Ranger twice. We caught it both times. I must say KB (now called Eagle Eye) knows how to proof read a report. We are having a hard time with photos but will try and post some before we leave.
Love you all

Okay,
Enough of the playing around and not spelling right. As I just found out tonight, we did not tell everyone our old computer crashed and we had to get a new one. I do not have everyone's email addresses printed out (in case of you know what). I am building them up again so if you think I might need someones please forward it on to us so we can up date our addresses. Emmy is getting over 2 ear infections. She lost total hearing in her left ear last week and when I took her to the Dr. She had fluid in the drum. She has taken her medications, but I think we will need to see Dr. Case again. She had a hearing test at school today and only heard 3 sounds not six. She forgot her glasses so they would not test her eyes. So far she seems okay with the 6th grade, but does not like science. She saves that homework for mom's homework.

We have been slowly working on painting the livingroom for the last 3 weeks. Slow because we have had to work on the weekends doing inventory, and so we have one wall done! But I got the washroom, kitchen and pantry painted. so we are back to the livingroom again. At this rate we might have it done by Christmas. For those of you whom I have not told, we are going to be grandparents again. The second G-Baby is due April 27th. Brandy went to the Dr. and had a sonogram done. Everything is fine, but to early to tell the sex. She is 10.5 weeks. They plan to marry in Nov. Not sure of the date yet, but will let everyone know as I learn the details. We have a new addition to the family as well. We got a new puppy named Dutch. Yes, its another hotdog. He is chocolate brown hense the name (Dutch for Chocolate)

He's getting bigger every day. As well as his teeth! Other than that we are all fine working hard. Love to see all the postings. And now that I figured out on how to get here, I will stay in touch. Got to get ready for work, so we will say good night to all.

He looked great, like he'd just started!!

The FINISH LINE!

Braum's! Look at all that Chocolate!!!

Ranger or F150?? Which one was it?

The Ford Ranger The Ford F150
Now that's a Big difference in Truck! They'd be nicer, I know, if they were pictured in WHITE!
Maybe you should print it out to demonstrate the difference?

Why's It Hard?

Do most of you think it's hard to blog on here? I think it's pretty easy. You just have to remember you login and password. : )

I love it when ya all write in it! The Mexico travelers COULD send us a few pictures via our blog spot!

I just added a few more family members....we'll see if they blog! : )

The Aaron's are doing fine...we just put off our latest bid to remodel...we're going to keep looking for a little cheaper bid...The garage door will be put in next Friday...That will be nice. The windows and back door are Great!! My new office in the front living room is great...I feel more like a part of the family.

Daniel has gone to school tonight to talk to some COLLEGE recruits!!! A&M is first on the list, we might have to pass the hat for that tuition! I didn't go with him because I have an ear infection, pink eye and sores in my nose. It's all possibly some sort of staff infection.

Kailea is doing GREAT in school. Daniel takes her in the mornings...that is working out tons better. She's doing well with the work. We'll see how it goes after Christmas break and they really pick up.

Ronny is just working, working, working, gathering money for our remodel!!! He may be transferring to Mid-nights soon. His Sgt will be retiring and the shuffle will happen. If he gets the open Sgt slot it'll be on mid-nights. I'm OK with it. It'll just be hard.

The Aaron family is also being abandoned by the family. Linda leaves Friday for a month and a half...Egypt, Qatar (to see Rhonda) Caribbean, and somewhere else that I can't remember at the moment. Mom will be gone to Ruidoso this weekend...we'll be TOTALLY Parent less!

Keep the blogs coming!!! I LOVE THEM!!!

The Rose Adventures

Well, things just keep on moving out here. Despite the fact that we've been abandoned by all of our family this fall, we're doing okay. Phil and Wendy have been off to Hawaii for 2 weeks. They're back for a week and a half and then go on a cruise. Then they are back for a couple of weeks and off to Europe for a while! Mom and dad are off in Mexico, hopefully having a good time. We're just working away. The kids are doing well in school although Summer is having a hard time adjusting to the early and late hours this year. They are both swimming on a swim team and have been swimming three nights a week until almost 8 o'clock. Her hours are going to be a little earlier starting this week. They competed in their first swim meet a couple of weeks ago. While they didn't win, the did alright and learned what it's all about. Homework hasn't been too painful. They both are pretty good about it. Half the time we're not even sure what Sierra does. She just gets it done. Simon was promoted to the research and development department this month and is busy learning new computer programs to design new products. He is enjoying it. He is product testing on Sunday - going on a climb with a neighbor. You know the saying "It takes a village to raise a child"? We've decided it takes a village to keep up with Simon. He's got one neighbor to run with, one to fly kites with, one to climb with, and he fits the kids in where appropriate. He's doing a eco-marathon in Catalina next month. 26 miles through the mountains off road. Finally, I am doing better at my job this year. The kids seem better and it's just good to have my own rules set from the start. I am still looking for just the right thing though. I applied for an assistant principal job in my district and I have an interview next week for the county office. If they don't work out, that's okay too, although a little more money would be nice. We've got such a big yard to landscape I dont' know how we'll ever afford it. We adopted a Chihuahua in July. Simon wanted a dog, but not one he'd get too attached to. he wan't ready for another Chamonix. Since he always hated Chihuahua's, he got me and Summer one because we wanted one. Everyone gets along pretty well and I think Simon likes him a lot more than he expected he would. He was about a year when we got him. Well, I've probably bored everyone to death with this unexpected, lengthy blog, but without my mom here, I don't talk nearly as much! I do check for your updates and enjoy them all! Angie

What happened to September?

This was a month that had so many events and none recorded. Where do we start? I do know of a few events, but do not know many details: It really is nice to go to one spot and find out information that we want to share. It does take some time and effort to keep it updated.

Summer had a birthday party on Sept 2nd for her 7th birthday which was Aug 31st.
Summer and Sierra started swimming, and how is that going?
George and Shirley started their “Trip” on Sept 12th.
Kenneth had a 65th birthday on Sept 13th. (Trying to catch George)
Daniel received a “Letter jacket” on Sept 14th.
Kenneth & Cheryl started their trip on Sep 14th.
Terry, LaQuita, Lena, and Shea started a cruise to? And how was it?
Shirley had her 64rd birthday on Sep 21st. (Trying to catch Kenneth)
George, Shirley, Kenneth and Cheryl entered Mexico at Nogales AZ on Sept 24th.
Kenneth had his Ford F150 (Ford Ranger on some paperwork) stolen on Sept 28th.
