I just wanted to take a little time and share some of the things going on in our lives. With two weeks off I actually do have a LITTLE time!
Simon has been working a lot on our backyard. With little budget he has been doing as much as he can on his own. As of today there are working sprinklers on 1/2 the yard (seen in photo). Hopefully we'll get sod on that part in the next month or so. Problem is...there's a lot of snow in the mountains and ski season may cause a time (as well as financial) challenge to completing...
We spent New Years Day hiking in the local mountains. We planned for wind and cold but not for snow and ice. You wouldn't know it by the picture, but up a little ways the trail was so icy it was dangerous. Especially in Tennis Shoes. The extra kids and woman are neighbors Ann, Alex, and Zachary.

Sierra went further with Daddy, determined to reach the top. They too ended up turning back due to the ice.It was a great way to spend the New Year...
The girls spent a lot of time preparing for performances at the end of the year. Here are a few pictures from their programs.
Their school had a holiday "open house" with performances and classroom visits. Summer's class had a pancake breakfast! Simon and I and all the grandparents made it. It was a fun day on the last day before break.
During the break we've just been laying low. We've gone to the movies, gotten haircuts and the kids have been playing with neighborhood friends a lot. They are currently into roller blading and bicycle riding. Tonight I went outside and there was Simon, my other kid, out in the street rollerblading with all of the kids. Another neighbor was out pushing their newborn in a stroller on roller blades with him! The weather has been beautiful since Christmas although storms are predicted the next few days. We are enjoying it while we have it.
We wish you all the best in the year to come.

Simon will always be a kid at heart....and that's great...he's a special dad that will do most anything with his girls!
